"Martin Jol is set to be named as Fulham's new manager later this week, BBC Sport understands.
The 54-year-old Ajax coach has had preliminary talks with the London club but will speak to Fulham officials later this week to negotiate a deal."

Bit of a step down from Ajax.

Well, considering the gulf of class between the Premier league and the Eriedevisieie (god knows how to spell it) it isn't really.

A team like Fulham would probably finish in the top 4 over there.

I think you over estimate the strength of the Prem, outside the top 4 clubs I don't think there's much in the prem that would trouble PSV or Ajax.

Giving up Champions league football for a mid-table side with no money doesn't smack of ambition to me.

So you don't think the likes of Liverpool, Man City, Villa or Everton would trouble Ajax?

Fulham also got to the Europa cup final last season, remember.

Imagine working for Mo al-Fayed? Quitting the Ajax for that! He must be mental.

Seems he's not:

They (Fulham) were interested but in principle I will stay at Ajax," Jol told De Telegraaf.
