So, yet another Barcelona player (Iniesta this time) has gone on record about how great it would be for Fabregas to "return home". Personally I don't really care where he ends up, but isn't this all getting a bit out of hand?
I'm no Arsenal fan but Wenger must be must be getting fed up with this endless stream of Barca players who seem to be encouraging Fabregas to break his contract? Morally I don't see it as much different to what Chelsea did in the Kakuta case. But it's OK because it's Barcelona....

If it upsets Mr Wenger , Arsenal , & all their fans . then long may it continue , i thought mr Fabregas looked very dashing & handsome in the barca colours personally

hehe

Seriously though...this is making a mockery of the 'tapping up' laws.

Clubs who want a player to know they are interested just ask their own players to make statements to the press saying that the player concerned should join them. Even that though is now mild compared to Managers actually coming out and saying that they've either made a bid for or are interested in a certain player.

Its gotten completely out of hand now. Real Madrid really started it I suppose and Barca have seen that it works.

Barcelona are idiots who go public regarding players and then get tucked up paying well over the odds for them. Aresenal have done very well out of them over the years. They'll surely get £40m+ for Fabregas eventually ?

Arsenal must be mad not to cash in on him, hes not that great of a player, and someone can be bought for half the amount they will receive, who can do 90% of what Cesc does, without the injuries.

But, what i dont understand is, is that he cant get in Spains starting 11. The club he is going to, is Spains CM. So, does he not mind only playing half the games he does at Arsenal?

"Not that great of a player" ...

Do you actually watch him play? Personally I think he is one of the best midfielders we will ever see in an Arsenal shirt. His movement, anticipation and passing are immense! Easily worth more than £30 million, when you consider how much they have paid for players recently (Cant remember his name, some unknown ukrainian defender cost them £25 million, and they sold him a season later for a £10 million loss.)

But I agree with your last point, I wouldn't imagine Cesc would be happy to sit on the bench for the start of most games. Maybe Guardiola (sp?) will see it differently, and would play him more?

He is, in my opinion, one of the 3 best players in the world. Messi and Ronaldo are the only ones who I would put above him. His vision, passing and workrate are fantastic. He is the heartbeat that keeps Arsenal going and playing the way they do.

Saying that... Ozil is apparently available for between £10-16mil and I would not shed as many tears if Fab leaves and Wenger ''splashes out'' and brings him in. He is a very different player, more attacking, but does what he does very well based on world cup form. He has good vision and creativity with his passing. He is Wengers usual ''type'' being 21.

Also, Messi came out in the press today saying how he wants Fab at Barca. I am getting a bit sick of this aswell

ETA: I also agree with your second point. But surely Barcelona won't be willing to spend £30mil plus on a bench warmer... he must be in Barcelona's first team regularly, perhaps in place of Busquets in the middle, slightly deeper role. Iniesta and Xavi play too well together to be split up and Cesc would fit in well with those two.

Not even one of the 3 best Spaniards, good as he is. Might well be, but not yet.

As a Gooner I'm starting to hope he does go in the next few weeks because I think it would be detrimental to the team to have him playing when he'd rather be somewhere else, he's played for us for a long time now so wouldn't hold it against him if he wanted to move on.

Also the £40-odd million we'd get would easily pay for the remaining players we need before the start of the season, it is amazing how Spanish teams always seem to get away with tapping up though.
