Sports Injury Advice?

I am not sure whether it should be in this section, however, I am guessing it relates to more people here so therefore would be the most useful place to post.
The problem is during Rugby training Wednesday, I scooped down on the turn to collect a low bouncing ball, as I went to straighten up and accelerate, my hamstring went. I have had hamstring trouble before but its usually like a tweak and can therefore slowly come to a stop in a small bit of discomfort.
Wednesday though it felt like I got shot in the leg, I passed the ball to a team mate, went to see if i could move only to feel a shooting pain going down my leg, suffice to say I limped off and got changed.
The Injury seems in an odd place to where I have experienced it in the past, its almost on the inside of my thigh and about 5" from my groin area.
Its still sore today so therefore my question is, have I pulled my hamstring rather than tweaked it like I have before? What can I do to get back playing ASAP and what steps can I take to stop it happening?
Thanks in Advance

Goand see a good physio, money well spent even if you just have one appointment so they can assess the injury properly and advise on rehab. Hamstring strains/pulls vary quite a lot...can be caused by back or hip issues etc If you have strained it before and it's worse now I would say it's a sign that there is a longer term issue. Do you stretch a lot ? You need to know what caused it and sort that out too. If you enjoy playing sport it's money very well spent.
As above, go to see a good sports physio. I can recommend my physio in Bath (she's ex-Bath Rugby physio) but it might be too far for you to come. A decent physio will help you fix the immediate problem AND give you exercises to help prevent it happening again, working on your weak points.
