just in case anyone was planning a trip in the near future, i thought i would post some pictures. there is snow in all the usual places, some drifts up to 4ft on the south facing slopes and now pakced ice where people have walked and the paths have frozen overnight. crampons are worth taking for some of the descents but not necessary if you have an axe. Glyders and Carnnedd in good nick and loads to keep you busy....

Saturday - Lots of low cloud, no sign of the sun, low visibility - 50m at best @ 800m, snowing all over the place...great!

Sunday - Sun came out but not for long, higher temp and a good thaw at low level but clouds covering most summits. Tryfan centre left.

It's a lovely place to be.

and as this is the sports forum, it's illegal to venture onto the hills without a full English from Petes Eats inside you.

Reminds me of a break I had in the Lakes in some snow - did a fantastic run from Haweswater over High Street to Patterdale and Glenridding in the deep snow.

Sunday looked like a good day to climb Tryfan although probably not the route I last took (8 pitch v diff/severe) hehe

Never had a good view the many times I've been up it.
