Considering the hype that surrounded the great influx of foreign managers into the Premiership a couple of years back, thinking about it today, we have 13 British managers from the 20 Premiership clubs.

Have we had more than that in the last 5 or 6 years?

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but it does seem that British managers seem to be getting their chance again? Its either the quality is improving or that theyre cheaper than their foreign counterparts....

cheaper is one definate reason

second is the fail rate of foriegn managers. for every arsene wenger you have a ruud guillt/gross/houllier

but i guess same can said for the megsons of the world. there was a time when it was believed a foriegn manager would be good as it would change the culture of the club and bring it to the level of the continent - apart from spain there's no other country where premiership football is better. the brits have effectively "caught up"

i think there definately is a thing to get the next upcoming young manager though

di matteo/coyle/houghton etc and putting in old stalwarts of the club in coaching roles.
