Blatant handball missed by ref & linesman
Discussion
What do you think of this clip?
Possibly one of the worst 'misses' by referees I've ever seen.

While admittedly blatant, Ive seen worse decisions.
From teh angle of that video (roughly where the linesman would be) at normal speed you can't tell for certain that it was his hand and not his head.
COuldn't see where the ref was.

...except that just makes his view even worse
His view of the ball would be obstructed by both the post and the players head.

Yep...NP Surprised you haven't stalked me on Facebook, TA

Last season when Bristol City played Crystal Palace, Palace scored a goal where the ball went right to the back of the goal (couldn't of gone any further), hit some kind of support and came out again. All of the officials said it never crossed the line. The video (and everyone on TV) saw the ball hit the back of the net. Suprise, surprise the Fotball league clamed copyright on the video clip and pulled it from the internet. Looks like they didn't want any evidence of how appalling the standard of refereeing has been over the last few years. It's an ideal example of where video playback would be perfect. Everyone on TV saw the replay 10 seconds later, so why not the referee on the big screen at the ground? Simply appaling. There are still loads of references to theincident on the web but any viseo reference comes up with the same message "The Football League has claimed copyright". What a cover-up.

and there was a similar one where Reading played (Watford?) and the ball cross the bi-line OUTISIDE of the goal, hit something, bounced back in and they gave a goal!!
Even the other players said it never went in but they still gave it.
Odd.
... but clearly seen on TV?Even the other players said it never went in but they still gave it.
Odd.

so once more, what's the big deal in the ref taking 10-20 seconds to see the replay and change his decision based on real facts?Gassing Station | Sports | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
