Killed in a house fire, not a nice way to go. I don't remember him as a player but he was an excellent foil for Brian Johnstone on TMS.

Saw this, RIP. Shame, but he had a good innings.

Brian Johnstone always called him "the Boil". Years ago I recall listening to TMS and one of the comms said "Botham has gone off the boil". Johnstone was sat at the back of the box and you was just about audible and you could hear him say "I went off the Boil years ago".

Good all rounder, better bowler and obdurate bat. Agree a great foil for Jonners. New his stuff. Shame he had to go like that but he had a good knock. RIP
