I've got a silly question, which could be sillier if I saw the 19th wrong but:
Bjorn was on the green in 3, 10 feet from the pin, when Tiger missed his 5th stroke to sink the putt, why didn't Bjorn take his 4th shot/stroke? I've not seen match play before so wondered why the match finished without a ball being sunk
Match play is very confusing, but the reason Bjorn didnt take his 4th, was because he won the hole, and didnt need to sink the putt. It's how the Ryder cup is played, and is massively confusing i thinkBjorn was on the green in 3, 10 feet from the pin, when Tiger missed his 5th stroke to sink the putt, why didn't Bjorn take his 4th shot/stroke? With Tiger having taken 6 already it left Bjorn with 2 putts to win the hole, Tiger felt that Bjorn would not take three from that distance so gave him the putt for four rather than him having to putt. In matchplay you are only playing one player at a time and so it is just a case of who wins the hole and it does't matter how many it's won by, because it doesn't affect any other players in the field putts or any shot can be conceeded by a player.
Stepping away from the basics of matchplay, bit of shock to see Mcilroy lose 8&7. Some good battles out there with a sick Rose battling Kaymer hard. Westwood can't buy a putt. I also missed out Watson as my pick of the Americans.
On a broader point, it's nice to see some of the younger players coming through and taking on the establishment and winning. There is some really exciting talent out there right now.

How well has Manessaro done! Love the matchplay format and brilliant seeing the top 60+ players compete against each other. Definitely one of my favourite competitions.
They definitely need more individual matchplay events, strokeplay week in week out get's boring, and matchplay is the oldest version of the game. They seem to have picked a great course to play it on as well - I've played out in Arizona and desert golf is a fantastic challenge with great views. It's always funny seeing errant golf balls wedged 40 foot up into a cactus!I doubt a Mannasero-Watson final would happen, but that would be amazing to watch.
