Guys

I've been given a rugby jersey worn by CJ van der Linde (this chap http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CJ_van_der_Linde )
I've been asked to auction it with proceeds to go to charity.

Any thoughts / suggestions on how to go about it, other than eBay?

Is it a Leinster jersey or SA jersey or another club jersey even?
There must be a better sports memorabillia ( spelling?) website than ebay for selling a jersey I would have thought?

Find a bar with a load of pissed South Africans! Unless it's an SA shirt I doubt it's worth very much at all. Maybe a couple of hundred quid ?

Your next Rugby clubs dinner? Have you already a charity in mind or were you just given it on the basis you auctioned it to some charity?

Have you got any proof it's his shirt ? Is it signed ? Even if it's signed people may say it's faked though. Without that it might not be worth very much at all.

Most of the sporting memorabilia that comes up at auction has some kind of authenticity....or the ability that if it is a fake you can get your money back from the company that organises the auction.

Do you support/ or have a local rugby club? Maybe donate it to them to auction so that they can get a bit more kit for the youth sections smile

You might find that it helps people a lot more than some of the charities that are around.
