Well last night I finally finished my summer mods, over the last four weeks I have been squirreling away fitting various bits to the Esprit. Of course the mandatory dump valve, EBC brakes, upgraded clutch hydraulics (Slave/Master/Stainless hose), ram air and my sports Exhaust. Initial exhaust purchase was a straight through stainless pipe that I fitted with an EBPV spacer, a real noticeable improvement in performance but it was very loud (Boy racer) and I disliked it immensely. I then cut the pipe and installed a small stainless muffler which improved things but still did not quite sound right so final change was the removal of the CAT. Now it sounds fantastic, burbles nicely on idle and at revs just sounds amazing. Test-drove the Esprit last night and it is phenomenal, a much different car and pulls beautifully. In total the complete exhaust was just over £350, dump valve £150 and the rest of the parts about £250 so £750 I have a totally different sound, feeling and performing car, a source of big grins.

So the question is winter, what mods, I am thinking brakes, suspension bushes etc any other ideas !!!!!

Hi there,

I have done a PNM Hi-Spec 4 pot front brake conversion. I have to say Iam over the moon with the results. PNM are still working on the rears taking measurements from my car for the brackets etc.
They also have AVO shocks which are fully adjustable for ride height and damping. Their prices are very competative, about the same price as a standard OEM shock. They also do springs at very reasonable prices. I haven't done this yet asd I have S4 shocks on mine. For some reason it's lowered my car by about 30-40mm.
If you want to e-mail me with a list of things you've done and want to do in the future, I'll send you a list of mine and we can exchange ideas. Don't want to post on here as it'll only start a debate on the pros and cons of modifying your Esprit. I don't want to go down that old road again!

Karl,

It's best to e-mail Hamish direct, it'll only start a boring debate.
BTW, don't run out and buy the 2002 light conversion just yet as I am about to source this kit cheaper than anyone else. I'll e-mail you.

Karl, it is the origianl one piece one as Lotus did. Iam trying to to a deal on the lights. Rear panel is about £150. Lights Iam trying to get for £160 but it's difficult.
That's a big saving on the SJ kit and the Lotus one.
Keep you posted.

Yes Karl is right, it's the Lotus one piece panel which means that you have to cut the lip off the bottom but at least it's a better fit.
Lights Iam working on but as a temporary measure, I can get the Elise Mk2 lights.

Cheers,

Cut the lip off the panel or off the bumper? I'm only curious cos I just bought Claudius' kit which is a 1pc. and has the Lotus lights for $1295 ...plus it is premade to fit with no cutting.

Luke.
