Thank you for the warm reception (I just bought an 04 a couple of months ago, one of the last 5 new ones in the US).
Well wicked as she was, I couldn't resist. Put in a straight pipe exhaust system (custom built with O2 sims for post cat sensors- cars now runs at about 88-92C, wonderful!), System One oil filter (I've used these on my race bikes for some time and they really make a difference in parasictic loss and temp), K&N filter chargers, Iridium plugs (about 300% greater spark than factory- again I use these on my race bikes and they do work well). Want to put in straight strand copper core plug wires, but man is it a job, so I'm holding on that for now.
Gents she is brutally fast. We're talking smack your head in the seat back from 40 mph as the tires spin and then grab. Undoubtedly the fastest thing I've ever been in that didn't have wings, and then faster than some of those.
The turbos quiet the straight pipes just enough, but when I pulled into the Hyatts portcochere it rattled the windows and set off car alarms. I've had people asking if they could stand next to the car for photographs. Love my baby. With the pipes opened up, the turbos light off like a rocket. Amazing.
As for an entry in the Forum about Ferrari's dissing, I couldn't tell you about that. They don't stay in my rear view mirror long enough for me to get a good look. I've had a few sports cars and I'll say this, the car gets more attention than any of them by far. Ferraris and Porsches are just too common.
Got 1250 miles on her. Just after 1,000 took her up to 150mph and she wasn't even breathing hard.
