Lotus Esprit Buying Advice

Obviously if your budget can stretch to an Se then go for one of these. They are the chargecooled version of the turbo with 264BHP. The turbo is 215-223BHP. There is an injection turbo S version which is similar but without a chargecooler at 235BHP.
Steer clear from the cheap one advertised on LEW as it's the worst car I've ever seen. Went to inspect it last night and it was a dog of a car.
Mine might be up for sale if you don't find one for about £10.5-11K. Mine's been upgraded/modified though. May put some people off. If you need any details then e-mail me.
As for places to look, try Autotrader web site, www.lotusespritworld.com or Top Marques
Also I know someone selling an excellent SE highwing for about £12.5-13K on a K plate in white.
Cheers,
Dave Walters

If its a Giugaro shape you should get a runner needing some work to make good condition.
If its a Stevens shape expect a complete dog and you wont be disapointed.
Thats been my experience at about the £5800 price range, unless you go for a non turbo and thats a different game altogether.
Regards Mike
