hmm, well here is my diagnosis
headlight pods stoped working LHS dead RHS slow and random stopping position

Rained for the 2 day school... i never drive the car in the wet... if i cna avoid it..but it was pouring...

the wires to the LHS pod motor was rubbing gaist something metal on the ABS unit... and when wet it shorted..
this causes the control module to overload.. the internal relay stuck on,,( i took it apart to see )
this fried the pod motor,, it is totally melted and smoked inside... then the relay in the pod control melted..
somehow the RHD motor is fine..

So i need a controler and a motor..
any part numbers? ideas? I see a GM part on the control module..

grr

oh yeah the school was fun.. S4s has too much sudden power for the track in the rain.. hard to drive but I was the hit of the school

I had a '91 Elan and now have an S4. I noticed that the control modules "look" the same on both cars. I had to replace my control module in the '91 Elan. I went "junkyard diving" for a replacement. The shape and outter markings of the pod case look exactly like those for all the years of the Fiero and Sunfire. But...those controllers DID NOT work with the Elan (I was able to check each at the yard. I used several years and models.) It was only when I got a pod from a '92 Firebird did it work. I paid $35. In my case, I drove the car to the yard, plugged it in, when it worked, I bought it. I don't know if it was a case of the year or model but atleast there are plenty of Firebirds out there. It may be worth a try.
