Start up problem after storage
Discussion
Hi all
I have had my 84 turbo in storage for the past 8 months. I tried to start it today and it seems as if the starter motor may be jammed. When I turn the key to the start position nothing happens. Battery is charged. I ended up getting it home by push starting it, but it is the same when I try to start it again.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Hi,
Mike's diagnosis is very good! But, in addition, undo all the electrical connections and clean them up with emery paper to be sure corrosion isn't a problem and then refit them tightly. Often, loose, corroded terminals and connectors can cause the same symptoms you are describing, especially after an extended storage period because the lack of current flow through the hardware can actually accelerate corrosion.
