Need Some Figures! Help!

I was reading the repair manual and it appears to be a little bit confusing.
The O-Ring free play for the carb/intake manifold spacer is marked 2.2mm and 1.9mm for Turbo Esprits, but it is marked as 1.0mm for N/A HC. The spacer I get has a rounded shape that looks like the HC spacer instead of the angular shaped Turbo Esprit spacer. What specification should I follow?

Second thing, I can't find the required distance for clearance "A" on the carb float measurement diagram. What should I be reading?
