I'm considering replacing my turbo with this unit in serach of more power, obviously, but mostly the addition "grunt" WC seems to promise. So I was wondering..

does anyone have this setup?

A good friend has recently installed a WC turbo on his "chipped" 89 SE and is very favorably impressed with it. It spools up much faster and makes an improvement across the speed range.

I'm sure he would be willing to tell you about the turbo, but he isn't on Pistonheads. I can introduce you via e-mail if you wish, or look for Dave Cammack on the turboesprit mailing list on Yahoo Groups.

Groovy. I just posted on TE.

I'm wondering what the advantages are to it over the T3/4 option I've seen and what disadvantages may exsist, besides the cost.

I'm in the process of installing a WC turbo this week. Hopefully will have the engine back in the car by next week and will post my observations then...

has anyone used a GT turbo on their esprit? I do not have a esprit (yet) however I have a GT3071r for my old saab & it's a amazing piece. The GT28rs might better fit the esprite's needs (depending on the HP you want) & it comes in a T3/4 style trim.

Unlike the turbo's from the company listed above, the GT turbo's have both ends full ball bearing & also have the most advanced impeller design

+, it's CHEAPER!!!!!
