Thermo-tec heat insulation

Hello ! Has anybody here in this forum ever used the Thermo-tec turbo kit in his Esprit ?
What is the experience with this stuff ?
Regards Harald !
Harald,
I am not familiar with Thermo-tec, but if I'm correct, it is some kind of thermo protection - either a coating or a blanket of sorts?
If so, I did have the turbine section of my T3 as well as the exhaust manifold ceramic coated with a thermal barrier ceramic. It's advantages are: lower engine bay temps, by better than 50 degrees F, better scavenge effect in the exhaust flow and a supposed 5-8 HP gain. I can confirm the first two, but not the third because I have not dynoed the car and I also added some performance enhancements, erasing the baseline. The company I used was HPC coatings - www.hpcoatings.com/ . They did an excellent job at a reasonable price. Two years later, the coatings are holding up very well. Hope this helps.

I used the Thermo-tec turbo blanket kit on my S4, it really cut down on the underhood temps. As far as performance gain, I can't say that it makes any noticable difference.
The temp reduction was all I was really looking for from the product. Because we all know it gets damn hot in there!

I have done the ceramic coating, heat blankets like you are referring to, and header/turbine wraps. Like Jim, I can tell you the under hood temps go down but I can't tell any difference driving the car. And, as much as I dyno changes I've not tried that before. I like the stuff and I like the reduction in temps, but that is about all that seems I can tell about it.
