I have a 2001 Lotus twin turbo Esprit.
I live in Florida, USA.
I am currently having a problem getting my car to run.
First noticed a check engine light on. Then the car stalled at a speed of about 45mph. The car would not start as if there was a bad battery. I replaced the battery and drove about 15 miles home. Next day car stalled again with the new battery. After repeatedly jump starting the car, finally got home. Once started
the car runs fine for a few minutes, then the rpm gauge goes to 0 while the engine is still running and
the car stalls again. Tried unplugging the ECM fuse for over 10 seconds, did not solve the problem.
Any suggestions....

Have you checked your alternator? Sounds like it's not working.

Where are you in Florida?

I'm in the Tampa Bay area as well. Easy to check the alternator output with a voltmeter. bring it over if you like or take it to Dimmit Cadilac (the area Lotus service shop)
let me know if you need help or just want to do an Esprit run sometime.

I second that. Also, Jim, didn't Dan's car exhibit this sort of thing when he had the bad cat?

If you go to Dimmit ask for Chris Warren in service. Tell him ErnestM sent you. Jason is the Lotus tech's name there. He LOVES Lotus and can do just about anything with our cars...
