Hi all,

there seems to be significant debate comparing one car to another. To get a taste of where everyone is coming from, please post a list of what you consider to be your All Time Top Ten List of cars to own. There are no right or wrong answers. Like your choice Lotusguy, with lots of history. I haven't really thought about it as this is the first sports car i've owned. Previous had always been family cars (boring). I will think about this one and get back to you.

Cheers,

Dave,

I believe that we are truly in the 'Golden Age' of Sports Cars today! There are many really good cars available to people today.

But, while the list of current good cars is long, I believe that it's History which determines the truly Great cars.

I think I could acquire my list for the bargain price of about $7,750,000 USD, excluding license, fees and delivery of course! Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE

# 1. Ferrari F40 (Always wanted one)
# 2. 2002 MY Lotus Esprit
# 3. Ferrari Testarossa

(P.S the last one isn't a joke, I truly believe if everyone had to drive one of these then there would be no road rage, everybody would be too busy laughing at thier cars to get angry, and if somebody cut you up all you would have to do is beep the Horn and you will be laughing so hard you wont care what they did )

Jasbir,

Supercar of Supercars? Other contenders for that lofty honor:

1963 Ferrari 250 GTO

1967 Monteverdi Hai 450 SS

1966 Iso Grifo 7 Litre

1933 Mercedes Benz SSX 500

1961 Ferrari Testa Rosa

1966 Ford GT40

2002 Saleen S7

1955 Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing

1923 Bentley R

1966 AC Shelby Cobra 427

1949 Delahay 135

1937 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Cabriolet

To name just a few. Clearly there are about a dozen or so cars which deserve this title, so, in my opinion, no one car can be so designated. But, as I said, there are no right or wrong answers, if the McLaren F1 is the one that does it for you - great! Remember, this is supposed to be a list of the cars you'd actually like to own.

Be mindful that the great cars of the world are not limited to those produced in the post silicon chip era. Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE

This is off the top of my head. In reality I could never just choose ten. And in reality I would like Every Esprit that marked a specific change. Like an S1, S2, S3, S4, S4S, Sport 300, Sport 350, SE, V8, V8G, etc etc. But given, lets say 10. Here goes:

1. Any type of Esprit, prefferably an Esprit SE Turbo in pearl white or an S4.
2. Viper GTS or Rt/10 old or new
3. Ferrari F40
4. Bugatti EB110
5. New Porsche turbo
6. Ferrari 360 Spyder
7. Elise MKII
8. Lambo Murcielago
9. Jaguar XJ220
10. Either a Ferrari F355 or 348 or Dinan or Lambo Countach

Geez, reading that you'd think im a huge Ferrari fan. He He

lotusguy,

Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder !

Still, not one car on your list of supercars would tempt me over an F1....

Cheers !

Well cant say I have driven any of these cars to warrant a list. But my favourite sits a little outside the square of production supercars.

Check this baby out. My partners good friend made everything himself, the only real part is the windowscreen and tail lights!! More reliable and more horse power than the real thing. Claims to get more than 1000 horse out of it when finished.

This guy is carving out my design in light solid alloy for new centre caps on my wheels. He is one clever guy.
