Hi all,

On Saturday I had the pleasure of having a quick spin in Dermots S4 and my word - is it quick! (and shiny).
However, driving my own GT3 we both noticed how relatively heavy the clutch was and how stiff the gear change, especially 2nd to 3rd - compared to Dermots.
Now - I've only driven one other Esprit - a GT3 - and it also had a heavy clutch and stiff gear change. Is this therefore typical of GT3's or do I need to do something about this?
I'm now really envious of Dermots easy to use clutch!
Cheers all.
Doors.

You may want to have your clutch checked. When mine became heavier (and it was gradual, hard to detect) it was a sign of clutch wear. At any rate, a quick check can't hurt...

Doors, my GT3 had a very heavy clutch when i bought it. I thought it was just a characteristic of the car, until i got it serviced and the dealer told me it was on its way out.

I got it changed by an independent for a lot less than the dealer wanted (brooke kensington in bicester) and it was much, much better afterwards. The clutch they took out was about 60% worn.

Maybe try another gt3 this weekend (if there is another at stanton)?

Cheers
Rob

I've had my clutch replaced so have had "before" and "after"- mine is quite heavy too, but the change is fine....You don't really want to sit in a traffic jam for long!
