Does anyone have any problems parallel parking their esprit, with the limited visibility and the worry of scraping the bodywork? Do you find it difficult or relatively easy?

No problem, no scrapes, and no power steering on my car.

No real problems here either. Pick a big spot, and when you can, tell your passenger to get out and help

I haven't attempted such a thing in case I get it wrong! I usually wimp out and go for large clear spaces!

Not an option, prevention is better than cure
I prefer not to take it shopping or leave it in a busy street etc for fear of someone bumping in to it. Yes I am pathetic, I prefer to park in open spaces or parking spaces that are not busy. I am a very good parrallel parker though and can get the subaru S/W in to nifty little parks, but when the Lotus goes out for a run, its usually for a run in the country or safely up someones driveway

Parallel parking is OK, as long as you can find a big enough spot! I'm always suprised just how big the esprit actually is- it isn't much different from the landrover LWB and it's certainly wider!
My main problem is my drive- it's narrow, walled both sides and has low, sticking out stones where you can't see them- you also have to reverse into it, down a hill- off a busy road- hilarious!

Tim ....Heck that is over the top!! Our driveway is pretty good although the entry is a little steep off the road which the partner has to get out to stop any scrapping even with the correct angle going into it.
That is the only thing that stinks about these cars. I am thinking about building a carbon fibre lip spoiler, but its just going to get torn off so thinking I will put it on for show days only.

1989 Esprit, no power steering. Much stonger arms though. All it takes is practice. Just purchased a 2003 Dodge Quad cab truck. Par-parking the Lotus is now a peice of cake in comparrison.
When parking the Lotus try to be smooth and keep the car moving. turning the wheel at a stop is a chore, especially on less than new tires.

I agree about the lip spoiler- if I sell it I might get a new one, but it just gets trashed on everything!
