I have been thinking about putting a Turbo pre-luber kit on to reduce start-up wear and to pump oil through the lube system to help cool down the Turbo and eliminate running at idle prior to shut down. There seems to be little doubt that it would help but I'm curious if anybody has any con's or has
installed one? This particular unit is sold by enginelube.com.

Hi,

The Engine Pre-Luber® sold by enginelube.com is a very good system, but at $600USD it is rather pricey.

I don't believe that enginelube.com manufactures anything, but packages off-the-shelf components into this kit.

I am in the process of sourcing the individual components and so far have sourced the pump (far superior to the one enginelube.com offers), hydraulic fittings (all quick change) and will use Aeroquip® hose(again superior to that included with the Pre-Luber®). The only thing I have yet to track down is an electronic controller/timer, but lacking this, I can diagram and produce one using Radio Shack components.

So far, I am at $230USD, so even allowing $100USD for the controller/timer, I will have a superior system for well under the enginelube.com price. I have several other Esprit owners interested in the system I'm putting together. Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE

Jim,
Sounds like your way ahead of me on this one! I for one would be interested in buying the components and I also thought $599.00 was alot for a pump and a controller. I don't think they even give you the hose
with the Turbo kit. Let me know when you get something together. Thanks
