tyres for 17&18 inch wheels

im fitting 17&18" oz suturn plus wheels to a 2.2 and need to fit smaller tyres than standard, does anybody know whether 225/35zr17s & 275/35zr18s wil sit on the 8.5"&10" rims properly or if there is a better combination of tyres

Might I ask why you need to fit smaller tyres?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don;t think that Saturns will fit onto your vehicle. Someone told me a while back that the wheelarches were made bigger on the later cars. I can see where you're coming from trying to put smaller tyres on but IMO if think they will still be too big. On your NA, there should be 15" front and rear. Front tyres are 195/60/15? and rears 235/60/15? This will give a theoretical diameter of 501 for front and rear. The new set up would give you 501.8mm front but 527.5mm rears and that's with the revised tyre set up.
Iam currently in the process of changing my Compomotives whcih are the same size as the pre94 SE wheels, to S4 type alloys any day now.

Guy, your right I appologise, Mark McKenzie in Scotland has them on his 88turbo. I should have known this as I bought his rear bumper and shocks off him last month.
