Whats up guys. Today I went out for lunch and I saw a red 1991 Elan for sale. 22,751 miles asking 17,000. He should take 16,500. It looked ot be in great shape and all original. Plus it had a book of service records. What do you think of that price? I can get it if I can sell my motorcycle and my jeep fast enuff.

Sounds a little pricey to me - although it has very low milage and a good history - a quick search on www.autotrader.co.uk gave me some higher mileage models - but more recent at around the £10-11,000 mark.

Personally I would probably avoid a red one as that is the most common colour - now if you could find a BRG one - that's a different story!!!

Cheers - Jimbo

Its actually a good price from what i have seen, im the States remember. I have been looking them up and it. So this car seems priced right, I spoke to the man selling it for him and he told me the man who owns it they all seem to be about $20,000 and over with 45k on has lost his job, thus the reason for selling it.

If I can just sell my truck soon I can get this Elan.
I would love a yellow on has it just screams Lotus on an Elan, but the red ones are more prevelant in the states. I read the numbers somewhere, something like 3,046 red ones, and much lesser white, yellow, etc

Sorry - didn't realise you were across the pond - in that case - 16,500 DOLLARS probably isn't too bad at all!!
