Fuel pump replacement or kit?
Discussion
Gday fellows
Another query......
My 87 Gcar (non turbo) had that "funny not starting" sequence a few months ago (lack of use)..... that all was fixed ... the contacts were seized ...after freeing it up a good spray .. no probs now.
My question .... what is the general view on replacement of the SU pump?
Is it adviseable to change it or just get a SU repair kit that i can buy in UK for £36
What else can go wrong with it ... after a repair kit is put in it ?
What other alternative fuel pumps are there .. at the modest price
Many Thanks again
Alex

I recently fitted a 'Fuel Flow' pump which works on a similar priciple to the SU but uses Solid state switching. Cost $NZ130 (~45GBP)
Wasn't too difficult to fit. Works good.
It is designed for carburetted models.
Specs:
Output 1.5 l/min (24 US GAL/hr)
Pressure 2-3 psi
8mm (5/16) fittings
Built in 50 micron filter and magnet
Mounts in any position
