Hi All
Have a flat spot on the throttle of my GT3 just above tickover,
making setting off/manouvreing a bit of a pain.
Is this easily curable, or inherant in the car and something I just have to live with??
Cheers
Mark

I have just the same thing in my 98 GT3 - around 1500-1800, and it makes pulling out at jucntions quite tricky at times!
Also, very heavy clutch and gearchange - I'm hoping is typical of GT3. Doors.

Doors,

I thought that Marcus's chip sorted out the problem.
If it didn't then let Mark Britten know as it was one of my suggestions.

Cheers,

Dave Walters
ps. Are you going to Demon Tweeks tommorrow?

Ths chip is a great help, and does give me some low down ability - but there is still a complete (but brief) gap in the rev range somewwhere around the 15-1800 RPM.Yes - hopefully going to Demon Tweeks tomorow - will confirm later today (as am getting lift)

Doors.

Hi Doors
Its interesting to hear not everything can be solved with a chip-swap.
Can anyone enlighten me, I have never delved deeply into the world of modded chips. I have often wondered how car manufacturers with billions at their disposal cannot better (or it would seem by all the positive comments) replacement items brewed by a bunch of enthusiastic hackers on an industrial estate. Are the manufacturers deliberately selling flawed management systems to get around emission regs or better fuel figures??

Mark - I can't say why or why not manufacturers (especially Lotus!) do what they do, but what I can say is that the chip I bought from Marcus was the best few hundred quid I've spent on the car:
www.lotusespritworld.co.uk/modifications.html
- it really has improved the every day driveability of the car (and of course it's perfomance) - just not around 1500 RPM which must be a crap Lotus thing I guess (or perhahps just my car and a few others?)
