Has anyone converted the older (say, SE) dashes and center consoles to the newer V8 style?

The newer style makes the older look horrible by comparison IMO.

Karl (KFM of fact file fame) looked into it but said it would be very difficult (if not impossible) to implement...

Best to take a picture of what one looks like down to the local fabricator (dash/interiors) person and see what they can do.
In the next few months am making a CF dash from scratch. See how I go. The black plastic surrounds are a little sad I must say.

Hi there,

May be stating the obvious here but it's not just the case of the changing the binicle where the clocks are. The rest of the dash actually changes angle on the later cars. Mines a 90 turbo and the remaning dash is inclined at the same angle from windscreen back, the later seems to kick up at the glove box line to a more flat position. This was just my observation when I sat in one and could be a load of bull.

Have a look at some pics closely.

Hope this helps,

Dave Walters

Sounds like we're stuck with what we got then. No biggie, as this was waaaaaay down the list.

BTW, off topic, but I'll soon be acquiring a BOV and new chip...can't wait. Lord knows I'm the last one that needs more power...

I'm working on an updated backlit heater control panel at the moment for the older Stephens cars - so it's at least a step in the right direction. Modern graphics, modern colour schem and modern backlighting.
The original one on mine, I believe, was taken from the parts bin of a certain Mr Noah.
Will post pics when finished.

Alan
