Hi, I just wanted to introduce my self. I purchased a 2000 Esprit V8 a month ago. I bought it from a VC in San Francisco who bought it new for his girl friend to drive. She drove it a bit but found it difficult to drive in SF and thus the car did not get used much. I got it with 8,000 miles on it, which is about par for the 3,000 mi/yr rule. It is in mint condition and even still has the break-in sticker on the windshield.
I drove it home to the central valley and had a great time. I sent it in for a "A" service to Ferrari of Los Gatos. They came with a covered car trailer and picked it up for the 75 mile trip to Los Gatos. Even though the car is out of warrenty they replaced the timing cover for a parts only fee. (Apparently there is a new version that does not rub?) I had them detail it while it was there and was rewarded upon it's return with a brand-new looking car.
It runs great and after wanting one my whole life I am happy to finally have it. It is for week-end fun drives only, and sits under a car cover in my garage during the week.
