Hi All.

Anyone had any experience with a wiper parking in the wrong place? Mine functions fine but stops about 30 degrees into the screen! The vehicle is a 89 SE.

I know what I did was to just loosen the nut on the wiper and rachet it down to where I wanted it positioned.

Thanks Chris, but on mine the wiper is moving right to the bottom - and then back up about 30 degs. So if I move it down on the rachet then its going to move off the screen when operating (then maybe some expensive repercussions!?!).

I’ve only just got the car so know little about much of the mechanics yet… so I don’t know how this return mechanism works.

The parking position is set by a microswitch acting on the wiper motor cam. I suspect this had been badly adjusted.

Ah. So it’s on the motor gear box then? I'll have a look at the weekend!

Thanks All.

Remove the liner from the glove box. Open the glove box and using a stubby phillips undo maybe 3 screws or so and carefully fold in the liner a bit and drop it out the bottom. This will help you gain a little more working room. You can even see it through the glove box opening. This of course is for USA/Fed cars, I'm not sure but I think the RHD motors are buried behind everything.
