Se will only idle

Please can someone help me . I have a 92 se which broke down whith no spark I quickly diagnosed it to be a broken crank sensor , got a new one and the car starts and runs like a dream except it wont rev up beyond 1100 rpm the rev counter goes haywire . And check engine light gives an intermittant flash however it has no fault codes present. Does the flywheel have a dowl pin that may have broken or does it only have the 4 cut aways ? .

I would not say that not being able to rev above 1100 RPM is running like a dream. It appears much like when my '89 had the ECM go out. The Rev meter would go all over the place and the engine would idle ROUGH but at no time did I get any trouble codes.

Changing the ECM box, not the chip, move it over to the new box, fixed the problem. Do you have any other strange occurrences? Radiator fans always on, fuel pump stopping? Changing the box is much cheaper than you think. Mine was only $80 from AutoZone. I also thought it was the crank sensor and the ignition module. But, NNNOOOOOO.
