Looking for replacement rears for my 89 SE and came across Kumho 712's. £63-£70 region.
I know the Goodyear NCT's are pretty hard to come across and are also quite expensive.

I was reading a few reports from performance magazines and these tyres have been getting some good reviews.

Now i know tyres have the all important speed ratings assigned to them and that the Kumho's are not as highly rated as the Goodyears, but to be truthfull, i dont intend to be taking my car over the 80/90 area.....had too many points on the license before and i dont want to go back there again.
So, i was thinking about fitting these as an alternative, anyone have any ideas?

I have Kumho Ecstas on the rear of my '89 SE and I have found them to be well up to the requirements of road use.How they would perform on the track I wouldn't know.I have also used Kumho Ecstas on the front of my Porsche (300BHP+) and had no problems.I also comment that they have quite a nice looking tread pattern (sad to say but that matters to me).Wear rate is quite good considering the levels of grip.I have managed to 'beat' their grip but only on one occasion, and that was doing something really stupid anyway (overboosting the SE whilst exiting a roundabout - not one of my best moves but the EVO VII I was tagging made me do it!)

Can you remember how much they cost you on the rear?

I'm only using my SE for road use only and after collecting a few points on my licence, i wont be breaking any speed records.....

I've got Kumhos. Apparently they are fantastic in the wet, tho I don't drive in the rain.

I've only kicked the rear end out twice, and you really need to try in order to do it.

Good tires.
