99 v8 leaves me stranded for first time. Help!
Discussion
Driving along enjoying the day. Suddenly the engine revs, slows, revs, then dies abruptly. It turns over, but clearly isn't getting any fuel.
It was a little embarrassing pushing the car from the busiest intersection in the town at the busiest time of day.
Sounds like fuel pump to me.
Any suggestions?
A few of things comes to mind....
1- inertia switch - did it somehow get activated? This cuts off the fuel pump as a safety feature, like an impact from an accident.
2- fuel filter - maybe you picked up some bad fuel or it's just in need of replacement.
3- check fuses/relays associated with the fuel pump.
Last, did the check engine light come one?
