Help on the 98 interior change please.

Can anyone help with the UK Spec V8 Esprit.

I am looking currently to find a 98ish placed V8 Esprit, I know I want AirCon and Leather. I understand that the interior was changed around this time, what is the change, and are there other things I should be aware of for this year range.

The 'new' interior with the small binacle was introduced in 1998 MY. All earlier esprits had the square-ish dash that the 4 cylinder cars had had up to that point. The newer dash unfortunately does not have a boost guage whereas the earlier cars did..

If you want leather and aircon, you'll need SE spec where this was standard, although the GT spec cars were often fitted with leather and aircon as options. My 98 V8-GT has the alcantara (which i actually prefer to leather anyway) plus aircon.

The V8-GT is the one to shoot for. Forget the leather in the SE, with the '98 model GT you'll get the smart new design, and a more sporty ambience from the alcantara trim. Personally for a lard-arse like me the sports seats are actually more comfortable than the SEs leatherclad recliners, and have loads more room.
I think aircon was an option on the GT; check out Espritworld for specs.
