95' Style wheels
Discussion
I don't know which one's they are, I've seen them on 94' and 95' esprit's they have five spokes. Also I was looking through my owners book and they say something about only using the recommended tire size or it will throw off the dynamics of the handling of the car, is this true?

If you have seen the wheels on a stock 94 it is the standard 5 spoke wheels usaually in a silver satin finish.
The 3 piece Futura's were an option on the S4s/V8's.
The have a row of many small cap nuts around the wheel rim.
It is true you should not alter the tire size from what came on the car using the same stock SE wheels. So that means not putting on a different tire size with your present stock wheels.
The S4/S4s/V8 wheels are of a larger wheel size so use the tire size that matches what is stock for that model would be a good starting point unless you really know what you want. You can also match the rolling diameter and width of tire of the different tire size to closely match what you have in a smaller wheel size.

Prices vary second hand. I bought mine for a very reasonable £500 ($800) with excellent tyres but expect to pay upto £1000 ($1600) with tyres.
New they are £300ish each ($480). Set of four with tyres around ($2800ish) from South West Lotus in UK.
www.lotusespritworld.com has some in the for sale section for £950 ($1520) with tyres, why don't you make him an offer.
Or do what I did, put a post up asking if anyone has a spare set to sell. When I did that, two people came back to me.
Cheers,

I'm thinking of upgrading to 95' style wheels. Does anyone know if they are available anywhere, or do I need to watch for a used set?

i have a set of 95 usa s4s oz futuras 17" with very good tires. I would sell them for 1500-1800 $ all in. the wheel outers need to be reclearcoated as peeling around small bolts. I dont really even care if I sell them because they are the original wheels and they look great. Just to give you an idea what you might pay....

The stock tire sizes for the S4 are very close to those on the SE in terms of overall tire width and diameter, the main difference being the wheel size (diameter) and resultant lower profile...

BTW the Futuras are what most people want. I have the OZ 5 spoke from the S4/ GT3.
When you get your wheels, you need to either shave your inside of wheel or your hub and 1mm radius. Your hub is 60mm inside wheel hub is 58mm. I did the wheel as many people advised that shaving the hub would compromise it. Doing the wheels only cost me £25.
I think owners are about 50/50 split on which way to go.
I once saw a set of these wheels on Ebay in the US. YOu'll have to keep your eyes peeled.
