I just updated my web site with a host of pictures and a few videos that I shot on Saturday at the Brits by the Bay show in Pasedena Maryland.

I've got some excellent shots of Eleanor, X180R1 in the Images section, and I updated the History section with my journal entry about the show (and some details about my little race on the way home ;-)

Enjoy.

Hi, great pics!

I dont want to seem pedantic here but the "tank" is actually a Ferrant Armoured scout car.
That straight six Rolls-Royce sounds beuatiful when its running

I couldn't find the owner after he parked and got out to ask him the details. I'll definately make the change tonight on the site.

BTW, I did hear through word of mouth he said top speed was 50Mph !!! And it was fully registered and street legal!!!!!!!!!

They are Quick Time .MOV files, so you need to download the newest version of Quick Time to view them.

www.apple.com/quicktime/products/qt/

Also, they are on the large side, so they take a while to load.

If you install quicktime and still have a problem, e-mail me direct at madmike@metalasylum.com

They are nothing special, but I like seeing the X180R actually in motion, even if it's circa 15 Mph.

Yeah top speed is about 50Mph, but I wouldn't wanna go that fast in it, the steering wheel is reverse angled (basically the top of the wheel is closer to you than the bottom) so its very weird to drive and it hurts you wrists if you dont do the "old lady shuffle" with the wheel.

I know of a few titled in the US, normally as a "2 door Daimler" you have to jump through some hoops, and find a friendly testing station but its pretty straight forward, it already has all the correct lights fitted to it.

A good webpage is www.trackpads.com/heavymetal/index.html

And yes I am a Military vehicle dork

Just guessing here, but it looks like some sort of air delivery funnel. Maybe to deliver air into the cockpit or forced air into the helmet?

I was thinking something along those lines. I'll ask Jaime next time I talk to him.

The device in question is indeed a mechanism for redirecting airflow into the cabin, as he says it gets extremely hot in there. It isn't a forced air system into the hemlmet, but says one could be hooked into it if needed.

On a related note, if any of you with slightly more $$$ than I might potentially be ineterested in X180R1 ownership, contact me for specific details. And I'm not talking about Eleanor.
