84 esprit fuel pump has not power
Discussion
Hi,
The fuel pumps have a separate dedicated harness. The circuit runs from the fusebox (either #23 0r #24) through the fuel pump inertia switch, through the fuel pump and then to ground. Pretty simple circuit. The most likely causes are either a tripped inertia switch, try resetting (it may be faulty in which case jump a wire across the connectors, fuel pump should come on, then replace inertia switch), or a poor ground connection (most likely). Check this ground and remove, clean any corrosion from both surfaces, coat with a light dab of Copper Anti-sieze to prevent future corrosion and retighten. If all these are checked, you'll find the fault. Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE
