Gday all
A ? ....if one was going to change the oil in the engine and tranny with the "GOOD OILS" so to speak.
Is flushing of the way to go ... to get rid of all the crap residues.....
If so ..what would be used ...and proceedures
I have heard that it is not good practice ..from some circles.
All are in agreement with the radiator

Also ..radiator... on S3 NA they have 2 core, apart from getting it recored to 3 core.
Installing a extra fan ..would that help ?
Is there another radiator that can be used instead... i.e from jap car .or is it compulsory to use Lotus type.
Im asking this as i have not even seen under where my radiator is....... as the weather in UK is in the WARM TIME. and im still in oz with winter 22-23 C

Many Thanks

Flushing can be risky, if there is a lot of crap in your engine then stirring it up will only make it worse. If it that bad then remove the sump and physically clean it. It is safer just to change the oil more often.

I am repairing a friends '47 Prefect because the oil filter (such as it is) was blocked causing oil starvation and big end failure. (these cars don't even have split shells so it's a tricky job) The problem is with the Prefect the only ay to clean the filter is to remove the sump and dismantle the oil pump, so you can imagine how often that gets done!!

With regards to the radiator. A radiator specialist should be able to put a new core in your radiator. Will be just like a new one. To view it put steering on full lock and you can see the back of it.
The fans are quite small, if I find one that fits I'll let you know. Better type of fan with shroud would be more effective rather than putting another on. Ask the radiator specialist or search the wreckers.
Having said that I had no trouble last summer in the Central Otago heat.
