How much $ to rebuild the engine in an 89-93SE?

I have read horror stories about the replacement cost for these engines but who here has rebuilt a tired engine?

I've rebuilt a few in the UK, but I don't know how our parts costs compare to the US and Canada - pistons and liners in the UK are about $2600 for a set, crank bearings are around the $370 mark, a Gasket set is probably about the same. Exhaust valves are $65 each, a flywheel about $600.

I do have stock of a couple of brand new 96 spec engines with injection and ancilliaries that I'm selling at US$6200 if you find youself in need.
