Sunken Headlight
Discussion
Hi all,
Everyone has been SOOOOO helpful in the past I thought I would press my luck and ask for more help. Incidently, I am not a leach.
Question: Whenever I turn off my headlights the left lens housing settles below the hood line. Since it looks pretty bad that way I always go back under the front trunk and readjust the light in the closed position...but the problem persists. Is there a missing housing stop or other adjustment needed?
Thanks.

Jim,
You need to adjust the actuator rod length which goes from the motor arm to the headlight pod. After loosening the 10mm locking nut on each end of the rod (with the motor in the raised position), twist the knob in an anti-clockwise position by hand (it helps to pull lightly on the pod. Loosely tighten locking nuts and lower headlamp to check position of the pod. If acceptable, tighten locknuts and you're done. If not, repeat procedure 'til you have it to your liking. Jim,
I'm in St. Paul, Minnesota (Minneapolis/St.Paul), though I was raised overseas, primarily in Switzerland and France (Lausannes, Paris). Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE
The answer to the lamps shaking is no. The shaking is caused by the slop in the gear mechanism. It is a worm gear arrangement not direct gear drive. You will surely find out about it when the light pod stops rising, though the motor will be turning. See my other posts for the fix when that happens.
