WANTED:- 6inch SUB-WOOFERS
Discussion
Can anyone help me,
Im after two 6inch sub-woofers for my 85 esprit turbo, the English in car entertainment scene doesnt build subs that small anymore, but im hoping that the Yank scene (beeing a lot bigger, like everything Yank) may provide 6inch subs.
If anyone can help me i would be willing to transfer money or send a cheque, or whatever was needed to make a deal.
HELP ME!!!!!!!

I have a earlier set of these fitted in the rear ports on my 89 turbo. Kenwood KFC-W1703. You can see them on my site.

JL Audio does a 6" sub, Lanzar used to have something that acquitted itself pretty well in that role, and I'm sure there are/were others, too...
I ditched my sub (8" Rockford Fosgate) when I got a pair of Görlich VK160 6.5" bass/mid drivers which do a perfectly competent job in the frequency registers you are actually able to hear IMO.
My personal take is that conventional subwoofers, especially placed in the boot, er trunk, er (whatever), need either a relatively silent vehicle to add something tangible to the sound when on the move, or they are rather too loud, muddling the higher registers in terms of definition and timing.

Have you thought of using an Active sub-woofer? I have a Panasonic one in my passenger footwell. Mounted upright on the right hand side, out of the way. This one works on it's one without the head unit though.
Kenwood also do one and this works off the headunit, as do Blaupoint. I was also thinking of putting this in, between the two seats against the back of the cabin. So have two. But I've already spent over a grand on sounds.
An active sub-woofer is a slim flat unit. Not as good sound but good enough!

Hi Tony,
Sorry to use your thread just to say hello, but just wondered if you have your body back on yet?.
I'm assuming you have not as you have not been bombing the forum with related questions. Remember to give me a shout if you need a hand mate.
I always look when driving past your lock-up but have yet to catch you in it.My work is taking all my evenings and weekends at the mo. Will call you in a week or so when the uni's are back and my workload dies down.
Good luck with the subs, remember to leave enough room for the engine etc...
