My service notes say NGK BPR6ES also says you can use 5 or 7 depending on the temp. you need.

I wouldn't go to a hotter plug (BPR5ES). I would stick to the stock BPR6ES. If your car is modified and running higher boost, a colder plug (BPR7ES) may benefit you. A good rule of thimb is for every 50-100HP over stock, go one range colder on the plug.

I have had no problems using Autolite AP63 and/or Champion 3415 Spark plugs. Both plugs types come out the perfect color (slightly brown) when changed and I am getting good power. I changed from NKG in my RX-7 once due to availabilty and liked these. Anyway, you may want to check out this web site:

...It is pretty good.
