This is a good idea yes / no?

I have decided to compile a list of all Esprits from Ebay broke into categories of V8, S4, S4S, SE and special edition Esprits. Reason being, I see so many times the same Esprit on ebay for months, especially that horrible SE made to look like a V8, its been on there for ages now.

i figure, if I keep track of them, their description and vin numbers, when it comes time to buy mine whenever that be, I will be able to look bck at the Vin numbers and see if the current owner information matches up with the descriptions from ebay. I can say, "Hey, did you ever get the so and so fixed. Or, wrong, this car had this many miles on it in 03, and yer stating it has lower etc etc.

Essentially, ruling out any possible bad cars, or good ones. Maybe they fixed it up and I know what they did to it etc etc.

Eventually I will stem this to not only Ebay but to other places as well. This should help to find the perfect Esprit in time.

You will be fine if you do such a thing. It is time consuming but the search maybe 1/2 the fun for you.

I always found one I liked and then concentrated my research on that particular one. Never tried it that way. Let us know how it works.

I wish I had time for such a thing but between work, family, Esprit maintenence, and driving it leaves me very little time.

I think that yellow '88 that went for 12.8K last week was a pretty good deal. Needed a left gas tank and some minor electrical gremlins run down.

My thing is, I know I am not going to be able to get an Esprit within the next year, more than likely the next 2 - 3 years I will be able to, unless something great comes my way sooner. My job has been screwing me on pay (I hate IBM) since 1999 and otherwise I probably could easily have afforded 30 grand for an Esprit in monthly payments. But whatever, I am leaving IBM within the next few months so it wont work out anyway, even with all the retro active pay.

I just see the same Esprit for MONTHS come and never sell on ebay. so I figure, theres a reason, and a chance to equip myself with nowledge to say this Esprit is worth looking at, or this one is a pig and I can rule it out.

And in time, when I take down other Esprit classifieds in the US from other sources, I can help anyone out here that is looking for an Esprit by seeing what its past is, if on record.
