Please help wiper motor esprit
Discussion
I’d been wrestling with this for months this year as my wiper arm parked at 60 degrees!
Even bought the workshop manual in the end only to find there is no mention of this procedure!!!!
After a number of goes (you will need a helper for sure!)
1. Removed glove box lid (2 screws).
2. Removed glove box liner (3 screws at top rear edge, inside)
3. Removed passenger seat.
4. Removed the N/S windscreen vent (2 screws on top, but watch out for the cap nuts underneath)
5. Removed all the heater pipes under the N/S dash
6. Got mate to remove the nuts from the three securing bolts (shiny ones on front of bulkhead) while I’m holding them under the dash. Motor is now lose but connected to the linkage.
7. Removed motor gearbox cover (3 small bolts) and jammed gears, then:
8 Manipulate spanner above the motor assembly and remove the nut securing the mechanism to the pivot.
Done!
NOTE 1: Before you re-attach the linkage make sure the wiper is in the parked position, and that the motor is correctly positioned (oriented)in relation to its fixing holes otherwise you will end up with the wiper parking anyplace it feels like!
NOTE 2: This is for RHD vehicles (i'm in the UK and not sure about LHD vehicles)

I'm sorry Guy, I did not know you wanted detailed directions. Sometimes I forget and do not get so detailed. Yes the maunual can be lacking. It already assumes that you are familiar with the car and an auto mechanic. It is certainly not a Hayes manual. The wiper motor on my USA SE is in the passengers side. Drop the glove box liner out the bottom and what has to be done will be more apparent. The previous post is accurate. Removal of the seat is optional unless you need the extra room. If you choose to not remove the seat, just use the Lotus position.
