Winter Park Concours
Discussion
Don't forget that the Winter Park Concours d'Elegance is this weekend on Sunday (October 19th) from 10AM to 5PM. The awards ceremony starts at 3:30PM in Central Park. Cars are driven up to the podium to receive their awards. The forecast calls for beautiful weather, sunny, breezy with a high temp near 80.
I would recommend that those in the vicinity make the drive to see the show. It'll be well worth it with a higher caliber of exotics including Lamborghini Gallardo, Saleen S7, Enzo Ferrari, and our beloved Esprits. Lamborghini is the featured marque this year.

BTW: Our cars are well represented on the web site. There's a pic of my car on the "About the Show" page and there's a pic of Ernest and his wife, Tammy, all decked out and looking dapper in front of their V8 on the "Show Itinerary" page.
Here's a quote from the web site:
"The 2nd Annual Winter Park Concours d'Elegance will be held on October 18th and 19th, 2003. The kickoff event will be the Tour of Winter Park on Saturday, October 18th, with the Black Tie Gala that evening. On Sunday the 19th of October the Concours d'Elegance will be presented on the cobblestone streets of Park Avenue in Winter Park, Florida. This show includes the display and judging of 130 exotic and rare automobiles representing 12 international marques. These beautiful automobiles will compete for Class Awards, and 6 Major Awards including Best In Show. Nationally certified judges select the class and major award winners. The cars will then parade by the grand stand in Central Park to receive their trophies.
This year's show will honor the Lamborghini automobile as it celebrates its 40th Anniversary. Twenty Lamborghinis selected to represent the evolution of the marque will be the centerpoint of the Concours display. An additional eleven exotic marques will be represented in the show including Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Lotus, and Porsche, to name a few. Three special exhibits have been added to this year's show - a display of "original" hot rods (recently seen at Pebble Beach); a "World Super Cars" display; and a "Super Bike" exhibit including Ducati and Moto Guzzi.
A 2004 Mercedes-Benz E320 and a 2004 Harley Davidson Fat Boy will be raffled to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando."
Cheers,
Karl-Franz :-)

Hey Ernie,
I don't know if you read this in the turboesprit list. Reed heard a rumor that Gerd has a new addition to his stable that he might bring it to the show: a new Bugatti Veyron!
That guy has all the fun. I want to be him when I grow up
Karl-Franz (trying not to be offended that you don't like my "cheese grater"

Nice guy - you should go to the Gala this year and chat with he and his wife. Joe S. told me that he will be trucking up "a few" of his Jaguars next year for FOC because Jaguar is the marque...

I like yours - because it is painted. It's the gray ones that I am iffy about. The British Racing Green was the only colour that I thought looked good with it. Yours blends - matchy, matchy (sorry folks - inside joke)

Tell me more about the gala. Why should I attend? I doubt I can get Tina to go, so going solo might not be so much fun.
Black Tie - very elegant. This year at Maison & Jardin. Joe says that they are going to unlock thier rather extensive wine cellar for us. It's a chance to share a few cocktails and chat with all the people at the show. That's how we met the Aston-Martin guy last year...
Excellent food. Silent auction with automobile collectibles. They normally auction off the original painting from the show poster. Just a great time all around!
