making things worse
Discussion
It happens to me sometimes. Just one of those things, but it still makes me mad at myself when I do it especially if what I broke is harder to get or more expensive than what I was trying to fix.

All the time. it is one of the pitfalls of working on your own car. That and finding something else to fix when you are working on something else.
On the bright side, you are breaking it and not some shop who will charge you extra for their mistake.

Tell me about it!
I started off with a blown head gasket. Right now I'm looking at a valve job, new cluth and bearings, all new seals plus a load of stuff I'm going to do "just because the engine is out". I'm just happy to be doing it myself as I can use the money the shop would charge me for time for UPGRADES!!!
