Check engine Light code 26

I have a 1995 esprit with a check engine light that comes on. It is really strange. When you start the car it goes through its first check and the light goes off. About 45 seconds later the light comes on. I think I have gotten the self test to tell me its code 26 which has something to do with the secondary injectors. Can any one help??

Code 26 comes on if there is a loss of ground in the ECM or solenoid curcuit of the fuel system for more than 20 seconds. Mabey you ought to unplug your ECM for a few minutes and also clean the grounds of any of the fuel system components, solenoid, ect.

Hi,

Code 26 is the quad driver circuit. It represents 9 possible faults. If it is set the check engine light will come on and the ECU will shut down the boost for safety:

- RPM relay
- Radiator realay
- A/C control relay
- engine overheat relay
- solenoid relay (throttle jack)
- wastegate solenoid
- canister purge solenoid
- check engine light bulb
- secondary injector circuit

one of these is either broken, disconnected, short cut, whatever.

I got this code and found that the resistor in the fuse box was not making proper contact. I removed the plug and closed them to better cinched onto the resistor tangs. Also, I sanded the tangs down and added dielectric grease for more assurance. I had no high boost for about a month until I found this problem. Hope this helps.
