My 90 esprit se heater does not work it blows cold air and it does not blow on the windshied, I was told to look under the driver side dash and look for vaucum line like a T line I cant find it, can anyone tell me exactly where to look under the dash to the left or to the right or to the front or to the back under the dash so I can find it or what else do I have to do to fix the heater. The second question I have is regarding boost the most boost I can get is .07 bar on my stock chip the temp on the car is 84c and I have to punch it to get that amount of boost if I do a normal acceleration I get .05 bar boost I was told I should be getting a max boost of .085 bar and my fans come on at 100c, will getting a new chip solve these problems like chip#2 or chip #3 thank you alain

Hi Alain,

The vacuum pipes you're looking for are thin, black plastic and are on both sides of the centre console, towards the front.

The're connected to each other & the heater controls with thick rubber hose connectors.

If you're not getting full boost there's a good reason why, so I wouldn't advise changing the chip.

You need to find & fix the problem first, then look at changing the chip

A few weeks ago there was a long discussion on a no heat question caused by the same problem. Look back at it for more info.

left side near where the central and dash knee pad converge is where the T is found. The vac lines are very small and can be mistaken for something else. It is about 1/8" maybe smaller.

Check the chargecooler if you are not getting full boost per you particular symptoms. On a heated engine engage turbo and run the car in robust manner on an open stretch of road. Pull over and immediately open the engine compartment without it letting it idle too much. Touch the chargecooler box it should have the feel of cold metal, not warm or luke warm. In these cooler temps it should be down right chilly even in the warmer parts of the states. If it's warm the pump impellers are shot and needs repair. $50 bucks if you are handy.

I had a similar problem recently, but luckily, I already knew what it was (I noticed it was severed back in May when I put a new stereo in). The cable that connects to the hot/cold knob was broken, so it was only a matter of reconnecting it. After that, I still had no heat. I remembered something in the manual about the fresh/recirc/defrost know having to be in the 11 o'clock position, and even then, you only get hot air blowing in the footwells (you have to close off the dash vents). Once I figured that out, everything was fine until...the electric vacuum pump seized up!

I turned the ignition to the "on" position for a few seconds to let the fuel pump build up pressure prior to cranking the motor, but everything was quiet (the vacuum pump is quite noisy). I thought my battery had drained, but she turned over just fine. Checked the fuse....blown. Found and pulled out the pump....the motor shaft was locked. I ordered a new one and I'm hoping to get it today. Without the vacuum pump, on my S4S atleast, I can feel a bit of hot air in the footwell but that's it. Also, vacuum is needed to get air to come out of the defrost vents as well as the footwells. If you can't get air to come out in either place, then you have a vacuum problem.

As Calvin mentioned, the vacuum lines are pretty small and look more like a black 18AWG wire than a vacuum line with the tees looking more like regular vacuum hose.

good luck!
