Your Oxygen sensor can effect fuel consumtion (should be changed along with spark plugs), as well as your engines state of tune ie., spark plugs, wires, air cleaner. If you are running any sort of performance enhancing software chip, this can also have a negative effect on mpg.

Hi,

These cars have a built-in mileage enhancement mechanism which may need adjusting. You'll find it located just under your right foot in the cockpit... Happy Motoring!...Jim'85TE

I reckon I get 30 on the motorway but around 15 round the town ( or highway and city as you would say ) so it does not seem to far out to me.

I have been keeping track of my 2001 V8 esprit for MPG. On the highway I've been getting around 20 to 22 MPG. But in the city and in traffic it goes down to 15 to 17 MPG. Overall 1/2 city and 1/2 Highway I'm getting an average of 17.35MPG.

I wish the car had a Sixth gear!!!! around 80MPH the tach reads about 3050RPM. If it had a sixth gear the MPG could be in the mid to high 20's!!!

But I wouldn't give up driving my Esprit on any account even MPG.
