Well am back from a short break from the south island and kinda inspired with plently of artworks to complete from digital pics I took. And I might add perfect Esprit roads!

I was also thinking what projects shall I finish off with the car this year and what needs serious attention.

So I made a small list that I thought could be acheived:
* Finish off CF dash, Cf side window trimmings
* Minor interior leather scratches to be refurbished or replaced.
* Tatty cloth inner roof panels need replacing or redo in leather.
* Replace worn speakers.

I think thats plenty to keep me going.

PS was great to meet you Graeme and thanks for the ride in your nice Esprit (another NZ PH here)

So whats your projects for the year?

1) Replace Drivers side fuel tank.
2) Fit Front upper ball joints.
3) Replace Cam belt.
4) Refurb and balance carbs.
5) Upgrade to AP brakes with larger rotors.
6) Fit Charge Cooler
7) Upgrade Turbo and adjustable Actuator.
8) Finish making and refit Sun visors.

Should be enough and I'll probably be back to just maintenance again.

1) "C" Service, and swap out the cam pulleys while I'm at it.
2) Adjustable Suspension
3) Drive even more than I did last year.

Those are my resolutions, and I plan to stick to em.

Here's my list for this year.

1. Having my SE bumper and air dam painted then fitted.
2. Fit my S300 side spats.
3. New arch extensions.
4. Colour code black cover on rear deck.
5. Brake kit.
6. Headlight conversion kit.
7. Smooth rear licence plate holder.
8. Sort out ABS sensors
9. Build a carport for my baby.
10. Gearshift gator.

That should keep me going for a week or two!

Just had major job replacing my driver's side petrol tank. Also had a flood over christmas from bathroom which meant water got into my engine bay. Car hasn't worked for over a week. Replaced the dizzy cap, rotor arm and in the end it turned out to be the Denso plugs I put in. Changed back to NGK's and it fired up straight away. Dizzy cap was knackered anyway but an absolute pain to get out.
WHy do they make these cars so hard to work on due to lack of space?

Happy New Year everyone!

Yikes looks like most of you are going all out! superdave will be interested to see your arch extensions fitted are you attempting to fit yourself?

I added up all the mods/refurbishing things including visits to the lotus works shop last year and am amazed how much time and energy is spent on these cars and not enough promised time redecorating our house . I forgot to add I may buy some larger HRE three peice wheels to fit, but they are lots of $$$ and may wait till the end of year, worth waiting for I think.

I think it is a never ending list, there will always be something I want to do and if not, something that needs fixing. Supercars, Would we have them any other way? I think not.

Kylie, I forgot water injection but may try fitting an intercooler first.

As for wheel arch extensions, I have some lotus ones to hand and can make some copies. The same goes for the side spats except these are mine to keep, so I can take my time on these.
If sucessful I could post you a set but this may be some time yet. This is quite low on my list of priorities.
Iam taking the black cover off my rear deck lid today to take to my local paint shop. This will be ready on saturday along with my bumper. Bumper won't be fitted for another month due to time at weekends being limited.
Headlights will be fitted be the weekend fingers crossed.

Cheers,

Dave Walters
ps. Very interested in your CF dash and window trim project, keep me updated on these please. How are you getting on with your roof?

Hi Dave, slow progress on the CF bits, the dash is really tricky, esp the side dash panels. The CF is very hard to push into the tight gaps with out distorting the weave and leaving nasty gaps. Its not a project I recommend unless you have the patience of a saint! I have made a few, but they are not good enough to use so have put them down to experience and battling on. The side window trim I havent attempted yet, but should be slightly easlier as its only one fold. The CF roof needs final sanding, holes to be drilled and coats of clear to be added shouldn't take much time. This project came to a halt when I was about order the roof fittings very very expensive parts, $700.00NZD to buy direct from shops in UK and $1100.00 NZD locally. The partner said when he gets a chance will custom build some of the components himself. So I am happy if he can do so.

At this stage I don't think I will add wheel arch extensions, but was just interested on how your going to tackle it thats all. And yes pls post pics so we can view.
Cheers
Kylie

I don't know what the exchange rate is but Lotus want £175+VAT (17.5%).
I did manage to track down the company who made them for Lotus. Lotus have bought the every remaining stock and have cancelled the production order with this company. All dies now gather dust of their shelves and they want about £20K for them!!!
So that's a none runner.
Does your's have a glass roof? If so, do what I did and just use the old fittings. If in the colder months you want your glass roof then swap back. You are only going to change twice a year which isn't too bad.

Cheers,

Yeah it does have a glass roof, and was thinking about changing the fittings over everytime too, but would be nice to just quickly swap roofs without mucking around too much. I will probably buy some of the parts though.
