Problems After Replacing Fuel Vent Hose

I just finished replacing the fuel vapor hose in my '88 esprit and am having problems turning the engine over. I have a fresh battery. Any ideas?

When you say "turning the engine over" does it turn over at all? If not; there is a wire (red and white if I remember correctly) that runs to the starter, it has a push pole connector in the between it and where it runs in to the body. I managed to disconnect it once when doing some work and it had the same symptoms. Take a look and check it anyway.
